Frequently Asked Questions
If you have additional questions, feel free to submit an inquiry below.
How does virtual counseling work?
Research indicates online counseling is as effective as in-person counseling and essentially works the same way. We will use a secure video platform to connect with each other from the comfort of your own home or wherever else you may be.
Schedule a free 15 minute initial consultation. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other to see if we are a good fit.
Once the appointment is confirmed, you will receive an email with a link to your client portal. There you will fill out paperwork before our session.
Follow the link to my virtual office at our scheduled session time.
How often will we meet?
At the beginning, I encourage us to meet as often as possible to help build our relationship and get to know each other more quickly. This often looks like once a week for most clients. The ultimate goal however, is to eventually develop skills and awareness to use on your own without my support. We will work together to adjust frequency as progress is made.
How much does it cost?
Initial phone or video consultation (15 mins) is free!
What about insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance. However, if your insurance plan provides out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for my services. Upon request I can provide a billing statement or "superbill" for you to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment?
If you cancel with less than 24 hours before your appointment I will charge the full amount for the session. However, if we can find another time that works for us both before the end of the week we can reschedule with no extra fee.
What are your credentials?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Childhood Studies and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
